hiking to Riddle Lake in Yellowstone NP

If you want a short hike to a pretty lake, this is the one for you. The parking area I think accommodates about 10 cars, so that is enough for what I have seen the amount of people visiting it.

Of note, this is a nesting area for swans, so this trail opens later in the year; please check the trail status website for when it is ok to hike that area.

The trail takes about two miles to reach the forest, just keep an eye for critters. When you arrive, you will see how beautiful it is ……….. a sea of water lilies.

The official trail ends at the beach, but I highly recommend you keep walking along the shore until you reach the discharge of the lake:

It is super easy to get there, just keep walking along the shore of the beach, It will give you great views:

Something that I plan to do next time I hike this lake is to follow the drainage. From the satellite images you can follow that drainage creek for a while:

On the way back I was carefully filming a couple of swan behind the tree cover. It looks like one saw me and flew away, I can assure you it did not see me.

I am trying to think of all the accessible lakes how good this one is and I think this must be a top pick.
